Historic Hanseatic city of Stade
Hello everyone 👋,
Our stay in the former Hanseatic city of Stade ⛵️🏰 is slowly drawing to a close. There's so much to see here that we spontaneously decided to extend our stay by one night before heading on to Cuxhaven tomorrow. The historic old town with its historic harbor, numerous small half-timbered houses, and charming alleyways is well worth seeing. We also decided to take a guided city tour. It was very worthwhile, and we learned a lot about the city's history.
Our campsite is located directly in front of the historic old town and is run by the Hanseatic city of Stade. The individual pitches are clearly numbered and separated from each other by small hedges. The ground is quite level, so we didn't need leveling ramps. All pitches are equipped with an electrical hookup. Charging is done with a prepaid card, which is issued by the payment machine at check-in. Each time the card is tapped on the power outlet, €3 of electricity credit is deducted. The cost per kilowatt-hour is 75 cents. If there is a remaining balance upon departure, it can be credited back to the prepaid card. The campsite is very quiet. Occasionally, you might hear a train in the distance or an ambulance, which we consider perfectly acceptable for a city parking lot. The washroom facilities are very clean and modern. The doors are also opened with the prepaid card, and there is no charge for this. At the front, there are three toilets with sinks. Behind the second door are four showers with toilets and sinks, a bathroom for people with disabilities, and a utility room with a washing machine and dryer. The water and waste disposal station is located directly at the entrance to the campsite. We paid €1 for approximately 40 liters of water. The entrance is currently being modernized from November 3, 2025, until approximately mid-December 2025. The campsite remains open during this time, and there is a construction discount on the pitch fee, which we think is very fair. The overnight stay costs €10 plus the city tax of Stade. We really enjoyed our stay here. Stade is a very beautiful little port city and definitely worth a visit. We would love to come back.
