Arendsee campsite

Welcome to the Arendsee campsite. 

We enjoy visiting this campsite every now and then when we're nearby. 

The pitches are quite spacious, and the staff is friendly and helpful. 

We're parked in a small pine forest, which provides shade and prevents the motorhome from overheating unnecessarily. 

There's a small Konsum store on site. This year, you can also order schnitzel, fried potatoes, fries, goulash soup, or even bread rolls for breakfast. 

 The restaurant, or snack bar, which was previously located directly in the beer garden, is unfortunately closed. Instead, there's now a drinks cart and a snack cart in front of the beer garden where you can order hamburgers, garlic bread, or langoustines. 

The campsite has a very centrally located, large, and clean washroom. There's also a washing-up area, as well as washing machines and dryers. 

With the campsite card, you can also access the lido, which is located across the street directly on Lake Arendsee, for free. You also need the card to use the shower. Here, you are billed according to usage and paid upon checkout. 

There are also several swimming areas for dogs, although they are somewhat hidden. Otherwise, there are several official swimming areas if you don't want to go to the lido. These are free, but dogs are usually not allowed there. 

You should definitely cycle around Lake Arend, either by bike, which you can rent at the campsite or at the lido if you don't have your own. The route is also easily doable on foot. The Kagel fishery serves delicious freshly caught fish and fish sandwiches. You should definitely stop here. If you'd like to enjoy a bit of culture on your vacation, you'll find the property of Gustaf Nagel, a German nature lover and itinerant preacher who lived from 1874 to 1954, almost across the lake. 

You can also enjoy the shores of Lake Arend from the water. The Queen Arendsee, a paddlewheeler in the style of a Mississippi shuffle boat, is available for this purpose. As always, we really enjoyed our stay here. We highly recommend this campsite and will definitely be back.

Good morning everyone, On Thursday we had two firsts. Our first time abroad with a motorhome and our first time on a ferry. We were glad we had our #wise card with us. This allowed us to pay with crowns at the barrier upon entering the ferry terminal. Since the motorhome categories only differentiate between under 6 m and under 12 m, our "Patrick" now belongs to the really big category. The receipt also shows the lane we have to get into. We had virtually no waiting time and were able to board the first ferry that had just entered the harbor. After that, Patrick started his first swimming lesson. Hangar 19 in Schwerin

Hello everyone, we ended up in Schwerin, the state capital of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, at the "Hangar 19" camper van park. We were very lucky, booking quite spontaneously during peak season, to get spots for two camper vans right on the water. For larger camper vans, it is advisable to arrive via Walther-Rathenauer Straße. Google Maps directed us through side streets where there was no way to avoid oncoming traffic. The reception was very friendly, and everything was explained to us. There is a small but clean and modern washroom on the site. The size is appropriate for the site, and there are rarely any waits. There is also a great Italian restaurant. With your parking card, you get a 10% discount there. The jetty is also open to campers. There is a pool ladder there that takes you into Lake Schwerin for a swim. We really enjoyed it here and will definitely come back.

Motorhome parking space at Lauenburg Marina

Hello everyone, We've driven through Lauenburg many times, but today we stopped for the first time on our way back from Denmark. The parking space is right on the Elbe-Lübeck Canal. The plots are divided into two levels, so you have a good view of the canal even from the upper level. The pitches are level but quite small. One awning can't be fully opened. Our vehicle is parked right on the edge of the parking space, and on the other side, we're only about 1.5 meters from the edge. The harbormaster runs a small restaurant called "Skippertreff," where you can eat quite well. Behind the restaurant is the washroom with showers and toilets, which you can enter for 50 cents. Showers cost extra. The nearby B209 road and the bridge are very busy during the week starting at 4 a.m. I'm a light sleeper and woke up from the noise.
